Summer Video Game Camp for Denver-Area Students!

Hello everyone! We’ve got very exciting news to announce: I get very excited sharing my love of video games with others and getting them excited in building their own projects. And I’m incredibly excited to announce that we’re holding three summer camps in June and July for students 10-16 years old to learn to build their own video games.

If you live in the Boulder-Denver area and are a student in 4th-10th grade and want to learn how to go beyond the world of Minecraft and build your own video game, this is the perfect opportunity for you! During the camp, you work in small teams (along with some expert help) to design and build your very own unique video game, including the design, story, art, sound, and programming. You will have fun, make friends, and learn some valuable technical skills!

You’ve landed on an uninhabited and inhospitable planet with untold riches beneath the surface. A recent intergalactic survey has brought you and 3 other prospectors to seek your fortune in the distant regions of the galaxy, too remote to be profitable by larger mining operations.

In order to excavate precious minerals, grow necessary food stuffs and produce energy, you have one indispensable tool at your disposal: the Rover. This quirkly little pal is the key to your survival. There’s no telling what you’ll run into this far out, so like a swiss army knife the Rover is designed to transform to fit any situation. And by transforming, is able to transform the land into a more hospitable environment.

As the saying goes, “Jack of all trades, master of none’. The Rover does it all, but can be frustratingly unreliable. With a little luck and some teamwork, you and this little robot with a heart of gold will strike it rich.
